My service is so much more than just clips of your wedding day montaged together… I want to get to know you and understand your marriage to produce your unique and poetic story in video form.
Wedding films with heart
I can’t help but get emotionally invested in weddings. I’m not just there to document your day with cameras and lenses. I really do love being involved in ‘the joy’ of every wedding I do and it’s that emotional investment and understanding that I use to supercharge your video both during the filming and editing stages.
Unique creative scriptwriting
It’s relatively easy to edit a standard timeline of events from your day in to one film, but how do you create a video that’s truly unique? Well for me this starts with recording audio of your vows, ceremony and speeches. I’ll then transcribe all of these words and selectively rearrange them in to a poetic script to form a thoughtful narrative to cut in to your wedding video. Imagine a feature length movie trailer, focused on all the best drama!
What vibe do you want from your video?
The default answer is ‘romantic and emotional’, but I can create more light and shade by infusing humour, comedy, sadness, high intensity, action and even create a ‘western standoff shootout’ vibe between the bride and groom. The list of ideas is endless but it will depend on what I manage to film on the day. Talk to me about your own creative vision and what reflects you as a couple.
One wedding video to rule them all
I’m focused on producing high impact wedding videos that are short and sweet at around 3-6 minutes long. Quality over quantity is my philosophy here as longer movies can easily start to get a bit boring.
Sometimes however the full ‘Lord of the Rings length' extended movie is just what you want. If more journalistic coverage of every moment is what you want I have optional services to add on ‘raw footage’ or the ‘Lord of the Wedding Rings’ 10-15 minute extended movie.
When all is said and done and the fellowship is over, regardless of which video option(s) you’ve chosen it’s my mission to make sure you end up with some truly special wedding films which stand the test of time. Your wedding is a once in a lifetime event so together we’ll create some heirloom movie magic that can be enjoyed by generations to come.
Wedding photography money saver
Did you know I typically spend up to 10 days editing just one wedding video??? Photo and video editing are incredibly time consuming jobs to do well which is a major reason why the cost of hiring a good wedding photographer and/or videographer quickly mounts up in price.
To help you save money I can also offer an optional screenshot service extracting a full set of mastered jpeg images from your wedding video footage saving you hundreds of pounds by removing the cost of hiring a wedding photographer! Please scroll down to my package price lists for more info.

As discussed it’s one thing to film some attractive scenes, and another to piece together the footage as a sequenced timeline of your wedding day, but will that really tell your most intimate wedding story?
Help me get to know you
Be it through some friendly phone calls, emails or in person I want to understand a bit more about you before your wedding day. What makes you both tick? How did you meet? This will all help me produce a wedding video that really reflects you as people. I also offer a pre-wedding engagement video service which is another opportunity to get to know you before your wedding day as well as creating a really fun video!

Combining an understanding of your personal stories with my unique scriptwriting approach means we’ll create one poetic wedding movie that stand the test of time. It’s my mission as a wedding videographer to create something special for you, full of heart and soul.
Planning a wedding videographer in to your wedding day
Compared to hiring a wedding photographer where you need to allocate time for group and portrait photos, accommodating me as your videographer at your wedding is a relatively straight forward process. I will for the most part work autonomously in the background throughout your wedding without requiring any specific timeslots dedicated to filming you.
I will however need a detailed schedule of your day so I can be on site at all the correct times and set up ahead of schedule. Recording audio of your vows, ceremony and speeches will require me to set up some remote microphones close to source (such as the altar and head table) but I will make sure the setup is a discrete as possible to reduce any visual impact. Please plan for these allowances and chat to me if you have any questions.
Do we need to pose for camera?
Put quite simply you do not need to worry about this, just be yourself on your wedding day and I’ll be there to document it. Of course if you want to pose for camera at any point that’s great and a cheeky stare to camera is a powerful way of connecting with your viewers.
How will you work with our wedding photographer?
Please feel free to put me in contact with your wedding photographer if you are using one too so I can have a quick chat about your wedding in advance with them. It’s unlikely one job will interfere with the other unless the photographer insists on photo-bombing every scene I’m filming. I’ll always work as politely and discretely as possible and hope for the same in return from your photographer.
What if it’s raining on the day?
Living and working in Derbyshire and Cheshire, just like the rest of the UK we know to expect the unexpected! I carry some weather protection for my gear so outdoor shots won’t be off limits as long as you’re brave enough too. I just see adverse weather as an opportunity to add some drama to your wedding video. It can be an engaging part of your wedding story.

Whichever video package you choose I will include a specially prepared luxury wooden wedding presentation box containing all of your movie files on a USB flash drive and a selection of printed screenshots from your wedding video!
If you're near me I'll deliver by hand or post to you from my Derbyshire base to any address including Cheshire, Greater Manchester, the North West and the rest of the UK.

Are you a videographer near me?
Whether you are near me or otherwise I will travel to any destination wedding within the UK. I’m based centrally in the Peak District, Derbyshire giving me relatively local access across Cheshire, Greater Manchester, the North West and the rest of the country.
What if you're not near me?
No problem if you’re not located in Derbyshire or Cheshire, as long as you are in the UK I’m happy to travel to your destination wedding subject to a mileage fee at £0.45/mile. Some mileage allowance is included already in my wedding packages. I don’t currently offer my wedding services overseas due to the travel logistics of moving lots of camera equipment.
