Shaunagh & Rob got married on 5th December 2020 and it was a great honour to be asked to be their wedding photographer on the very exclusive lockdown guest list. The ceremony took place around noon at Zion Chapel in Hyde near Stockport with guests numbers limited to about twenty or so close friends and family.
Wearing our colour-coordinated face masks there was good banter between everyone in the chapel both before and after the ceremony, with just a few group photos inside at the venue, some tea and biscuits and of course the essential signing of the registry. The whole service was broadcast over Zoom so extended family didn't miss out with the bride and groom managing to chat to friends after the ceremony via their laptop.
Leaving the chapel and the just married couple walked through a corridor of confetti created by the guests then jumped in their ribbon-adorned white Fiat. To a chorus of celebration from some pedestrians on-route, I followed them in their wedding car up in to the hills to catch some portrait photos to a lovely wintry backdrop near Rowarth leaving them to head on home to New Mills after that... as Mr & Mrs!
The big party with many more guests is to follow in 2021.
Rob and Shaunagh actually met each other through church so I know their wedding day had extra religious significance on top of being a memorable landmark in their lives; just the way it should be! The genuine smiles tell the best story and I wish them every happiness for the future.
