A Special Wedding in Buxton

Bride and groom looking out from the Buxton Crescent

We'd all been spoilt. Getting used to glorious unbroken sunshine through much of May and June in 2023, and that's exactly what we got for Nimmi & Peter's wedding on 26th May 2023.

They say sometimes the weather makes a wedding, but I think this was just the cherry on top.

At times the bride and groom reminded me of teenagers 'giddy in love' which is always great to see! Smiles all round with much fun had by all. Being made to feel like a guest rather than the photographer, it was a pleasure to be part of this wedding.

P.S. Please scroll to the bottom of this page for a link to download all of the photos from the day.

The ceremony was held at St Matthew's Church in Hayfield. As an active member of this church, the groom was keen to 'ring his own bells' on his wedding day. It was fun to witness the bell ringers in action inside the tower and see how it's done.

Once the ceremony was complete, it was over to The Buxton Crescent Hotel for the wedding reception and breakfast, and of course the bride and groom photos in the adjacent Buxton Pavilion Gardens.

After the cutting of the cake, it was time for Ceilidh dancing. The bride and groom decided the first dance wasn't just for them, so everyone was invited on to the dance floor. Luckily no broken bones.

After all the dancing was over, the following day was pretty special too!

The bride and groom have an awesome rear garden at their home in Chapel-en-le-Frith, complete with stunning countryside views looking out towards Combs Head in Derbyshire.

They set up the garden with rustic hay bale seating, lawn games and even a fully stocked outdoor bar. It was a great idea to keep the party going in to the next day, especially for all the guests who had travelled from far and wide.
